ELGIN — The Elgin High School boys basketball team opened its summer league schedule Friday evening at the Larkin Fieldhouse with a 58-47 victory over Streamwood, a performance head coach Darnell Webb called the clearest sign yet that his program has turned a corner.
The Maroons return four starters from a squad that went 22-9 last winter and reached the Class 4A sectional semifinal for the first time since 2017. Junior guard Rashaun Peoples led all scorers with 19 points Friday, including three consecutive three-pointers in the third quarter that broke the game open. Senior forward Malik Booker added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
