Batavia Girls Soccer Blanks Geneva 2-0 to Claim Sectional Title

BATAVIA — Junior midfielder Ava Kowalski scored twice in a four-minute span early in the second half Saturday evening, lifting the Batavia Bulldogs to a 2-0 victory over crosstown rival Geneva in the IHSA Class 3A sectional championship at Bulldog Stadium.

The win gives Batavia its first sectional title since 2019 and sends the Bulldogs (19-2-1) into Tuesday's supersectional matchup against Naperville North at Benedictine University in Lisle. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
