Batavia junior linebacker Jalen Moore announced his commitment to Northwestern University on Sunday, choosing the Wildcats over Power Four offers from Iowa State, Illinois, and Indiana. Moore, who projects as an outside linebacker at the next level, made the announcement in a post to social media that drew immediate congratulations from Bulldogs head coach Dennis Piron.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound Moore recorded 94 tackles, 11 sacks, and four forced fumbles last fall as Batavia won the Class 6A state championship. He is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports and ranks among the top 15 outside linebacker recruits in the 2027 class nationally. Northwestern linebackers coach Chad Henne visited Batavia twice during the school year before extending a full-ride offer in March.
