Former St. Charles alderman Patrick Dunne announced Tuesday he will challenge 12-year Kane County District 2 Supervisor James Harrington in November, setting up the most closely watched county race of the cycle.
Dunne, 51, served three terms on the St. Charles City Council before stepping down in 2023. He said his campaign will focus on property tax relief, rural road maintenance, and increased transparency in county contracting.
